Textile and steelcord belts can be damaged
by foreign bodies which result to longitudinal rip. Conductor loops can be vulcanized in the top cover of an ELENsa steel cord belt.
An electronic unit controls the belt and
stops it if a loop is interrupted.
The length of a longitudinal rip can not
exceed the distance from one loop to the
other.

In order to increase the impact and cuts resistance, an extra breaker or metal layer reinforces the conveyor belt.

1. The steel cord belts reinforced

a) Breaker reinforced belts
A fabric layer with weft fibers of great elongation increases significant the cut resistance of the belt, since because of the elongation of the weft fibers the resistance adds up.

b) Fleximat* reinforced belts
In the case of a Fleximat reinforced belt a unique steel cord fabric is build in, consisting of steel cords warp and weft.
The weft cords have high breaking elongation, which increases the tear strength and impact resistance of the belt.

The belts are available up to a tensile strength of ST 2000 in different constructions.

 

2. The textile belt reinforced

Weft metal cords with high breaking elongation could be used in order to protect a textile belt against impact shocks and longitudinal rips.
